About Us

Vinita is one of the oldest towns in Oklahoma, founded in 1871, and we take pride in our history and strong sense of community. Our historic downtown features antique shops, cafés, and local businesses that reflect the spirit of our city. Visitors can explore our Cherokee Nation heritage at the Eastern Trails Museum, travel our stretch of historic Route 66, and experience well known landmarks like Clanton’s Cafe, the longest continually family owned restaurant on the entire Mother Road.

Located in Oklahoma’s Green Country, Vinita offers a friendly small town atmosphere with access to Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, outdoor recreation at Vinita Lake Park, and long standing traditions like the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo. With quality schools, affordable living, and a welcoming community, Vinita continues to be a great place to visit and a great place to call home.
