See downtown Amarillo sparkle as the Center City Electric Light Parade celebrates “Christmas on Route 66.” This year’s theme brings together holiday cheer and the Mother Road’s centennial, with illuminated floats and community groups making their way along Polk Street.
Find a viewing spot between 11th and 4th Avenues and enjoy a downtown tradition that brings families, schools, clubs, and local businesses together. Entrants will put their creativity on display as they compete for awards recognizing holiday spirit, entertainment, community pride, and their interpretation of the Route... 66 theme.
The parade begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 4. Bundle up for an evening outdoors and arrive early to choose your spot along the route.
Keep the celebration going afterward at the separately ticketed Civic Amarillo Holiday Market at the Santa Fe Depot Pavilion. Friday’s market runs from 1–10 p.m., with outdoor holiday shopping and children’s activities.
