Welcome to Ambler's Texaco Gas Station, one of the most iconic and best-preserved service stations on Historic Route 66. Built in 1933, the station welcomed travelers for an incredible 66 consecutive years, earning recognition as the longest continuously operating gas station along the Mother Road. During its most famous years, it was operated by longtime owner Basil "Tubby" Ambler, whose name the station proudly carries today.
Today, the beautifully restored station serves as the official Route 66 Visitor Center for the Village of Dwight. Step inside to explore Route 66 memorabilia, local history exhibits, and travel information before continuing your journey. Outside, you'll find classic Texaco pumps, period architecture, and one of the most photographed service stations anywhere on the Mother Road. A Nationally Recognized Landmark
