Step inside Carthage Deli & Ice Cream and you'll find much more than sandwiches and sweets. Located in the historic 1884 Bank of Carthage Building on the town square, the deli surrounds guests with vintage signs, Route 66-era memorabilia, checkerboard floors and colorful pieces of Carthage history. The building itself once housed the Bank of Carthage, founded at this location in 1868, and still retains historic features from its banking days. Today, the deli's nostalgic atmosphere, made-to-order sandwiches, coffee and old-fashioned ice cream treats make it a fun stop for travelers exploring Carthage and Route 66.

And Tony, your photos are MUCH better than what we had before. The Ray's Cafe sign, Rexall Drugs, A&W, MOCO Feeds, Belle Starr, the old gas pump, checkerboard floor... that's the story of this Place Page. The exterior shot alone doesn't remotely communicate what's hiding inside.
