About

We’ve been welcoming audiences to downtown Miami since 1929, when local mining magnate George L. Coleman Sr. opened the Coleman Theatre Beautiful as an elegant home for vaudeville, movies and live entertainment. Designed to rival theaters found in much larger cities, the Coleman quickly became one of the community’s most treasured landmarks.

Nearly a century later, much of what made our theater extraordinary remains. Our beautifully restored interior features elaborate decorative plasterwork, stained glass, ornate details and the original Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ that has been here since opening night. Over the years, our stage has welcomed legendary entertainers including Will Rogers and Bing Crosby, along with generations of performers and audiences.
