About

We preserve and share the stories of Miami, Ottawa County, and northeastern Oklahoma from our home on historic Route 66. Our museum is centered around the historic Dobson family home, built in 1915–1916 and still furnished with original pieces belonging to the family.

In 2026, we began an exciting new chapter following a major renovation and complete reimagining of the museum experience. Eight newly designed galleries combine historic artifacts, interactive exhibits, and modern storytelling to bring the people, places, and events that shaped our region to life.

Visitors can explore Native American heritage, the Tri-State mining industry, pioneer life, Route 66 and transportation, local businesses, and generations of Ottawa County history. From the historic Dobson Home and gardens to our newly reimagined galleries, we invite visitors to discover the stories that have shaped our community and continue to connect generations.
