About
Dream Maker Station gives an old Route 66 service station a lively new purpose at the midpoint of the Mother Road in Adrian. The building began life as Dub's Enco-Humble Service Station, operated by Dub Edmunds, and later became the Sunflower Station under Fran Houser, longtime owner of the neighboring Midpoint Café. Jason and Kelly Snyder purchased the property in 2021 after discovering it during their own Route 66 journey, eventually relocating from Ohio and reopening the station as Dream Maker Station in 2024. Its preserved canopy, vintage fuel-station character, old signs and roadside setting make the property feel very much connected to the era when service stations were an essential part of cross-country travel.
Today, Dream Maker Station is part souvenir shop, part gathering place and part celebration of the travelers who keep Route 66 alive. Visitors can browse Route 66 shirts, mugs, patches, pins and other gifts, grab fresh coffee, and—depending on the day—find hamburgers, hot dogs or brats being grilled for road-trippers. The station also hosts Route 66 gatherings and automotive events, fitting naturally into Adrian's role as the place where eastbound and westbound journeys meet. More than anything, the owners emphasize meeting travelers and hearing their stories, giving the stop the welcoming, personal character that once defined small-town service stations all along the highway.
