The Gardenway Motel Sign is a standout piece of Route 66 roadside design in Villa Ridge. Its oversized, rust-red “GARDENWAY” letters stretch across an open steel frame, crowned by a Phillips 66... shield—an instantly recognizable reminder of the era when motor courts competed for the attention of passing travelers.
The sign once served the nearby Gardenway Motel, but it is worth recognizing in its own right as a surviving piece of commercial Americana. Weathered and wonderfully graphic, it captures the scale, color, and personality that made Route 66 motel signage part of the journey itself.
