About
Experience Springfield’s creative side at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, where we bring theater, music, dance, and visual art together in the heart of downtown. From musicals and intimate concerts to gallery exhibitions and special events, our stages and gathering spaces offer plenty of reasons to make an evening of your visit.
Our building began life as a Masonic Temple in 1909. Following an extensive renovation, it opened as a community arts center on New Year’s Eve in 2003 and received the Hoogland name the following year in recognition of Charles and Kay Hoogland’s generosity.
Today, our three theaters, galleries, and rehearsal spaces provide a home for local arts organizations and performers. Whether you’re catching a show during your Route 66 travels or discovering a new favorite artist, we invite you to take a seat and enjoy what Springfield creates.
