The Meadow Gold Sign is one of Tulsa's most iconic Route 66 landmarks and one of the most recognizable neon signs along the entire Mother Road. Originally erected in 1934 by the Claude Neon Company to advertise the Beatrice Dairy Company, the towering double-sided sign has welcomed travelers along historic Route 66 for generations.
When the building beneath the sign was slated for demolition in the early 2000s, community leaders and preservationists came together to save this beloved piece of roadside history. The sign was carefully relocated to its current location along East 11th Street, where it was restored and placed atop a specially constructed brick structure featuring interpretive displays. In 2016, the addition of working clocks restored another historic feature, ensuring the Meadow Gold Sign continues to shine as a symbol of Tulsa's commitment to preserving its Route 66 heritage.
