Uranus Fudge Factory & General Store

About

Established on July 2, 2015, Uranus Fudge Factory began as an unconventional roadside attraction created by entrepreneur Louie Keen, affectionately known as the Mayor of Uranus. Located along Historic Route 66 near St. Robert, Missouri, the destination celebrates the highway's longstanding tradition of unusual tourist attractions and playful roadside advertising. What began as a humorous general store developed into an entertainment complex centered around freshly handmade fudge, novelty gifts, and larger-than-life attractions. Its distinctive branding and outrageous sense of humor have attracted travelers from around the world. The original Missouri location eventually inspired two additional Uranus stores in Indiana, extending the business beyond the historic Mother Road.

Today, Uranus Fudge Factory offers visitors considerably more than its signature sweets. The general store features numerous fudge flavors, Route 66 souvenirs, novelty merchandise, and an enthusiastic staff known for entertaining customers with endless wordplay. Throughout the property, visitors encounter colorful signs, dinosaurs, oversized roadside displays, Putt Pirates Mini Golf, and the Uranus Sideshow Museum, which celebrates historic carnival entertainment and unusual curiosities. Another prominent attraction is the enormous belt buckle, officially recognized by Guinness World Records in 2017. Ice cream, additional entertainment, and numerous photography opportunities complete the experience. Combining classic American roadside kitsch with modern attractions, Uranus continues the Mother Road's tradition of giving travelers unexpected reasons to stop and explore.
