About

We’re preserving a small piece of the Mother Road at Valentine Station, a historic gas station that has served travelers along this stretch of Route 66 since 1945. After sitting closed for years, the station reopened as a gift shop in 2019 and has continued evolving as a family preservation project. Vintage gas pumps, signs, automobiles and other roadside artifacts help recreate the character of an earlier era, while the restored red-and-white station remains an easy-to-spot reminder of the service stations that once supported motorists crossing western Arizona.

Valentine Station is a mother-and-son effort focused not only on the old gas station, but also on preserving and restoring the property’s travel-trailer motor court facilities and hotel rooms. We share stories and knowledge about Valentine, Route 66 and small-town Americana while continuing restoration work and welcoming opportunities for private tours and camping experiences. It’s a place where travelers can spend some time with the objects, stories and people helping keep this quiet section of Historic Route 66 connected to its roadside past.
