We’ve been serving burgers and Route 66 travelers in Miami since the 1960s. Waylan’s Ku-Ku Burger is the last surviving location of a once-popular chain that grew to more than 200 restaurants across the Midwest, and today we’re proud to keep that classic roadside tradition alive.

You’ll know you’ve found us when you spot our giant cuckoo bird and iconic green-and-yellow neon sign along Route 66. Inside, we keep things simple with made-to-order burgers, fries, shakes and frozen treats served with plenty of old-school character.

Generations of Miami families and travelers from around the world have made Ku-Ku Burger part of their Route 66 experience. In 2026, our restaurant was added to the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing the building and its place in the history of the Mother Road.
