About Us

Our distinctive concrete wigwam rooms have welcomed travelers along Route 66 since the middle of the 20th century. Wigwam Village #7 was created by Frank Redford, who developed the Wigwam Village concept in Kentucky before heading west after World War II. Construction began in the late 1940s, and the motel opened in 1950 with 11 guest wigwams arranged around a grassy gathering area. Eight more were later added, bringing the property to the 19 units guests see today. Each freestanding room rises about 32 feet and preserves the roadside architecture that made the Wigwam Villages recognizable to generations of travelers.

After changing hands and declining over the decades, our property was purchased by the Patel family in 2002 and carefully restored, including the grounds, swimming pool and distinctive guest rooms. Today you can sleep in one of our refurbished wigwams, wander among vintage automobiles displayed around the property, visit our gift shop or cool off in the outdoor pool while experiencing a surviving piece of Route 66 lodging history. Wigwam Village #7 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, and its roadside architecture also helped inspire the Cozy Cone Motel seen in Pixar's Cars.
