About Us

Created in 2004 by artist Gregg Arnold, Giganticus Headicus has become one of the most recognizable modern roadside attractions on Historic Route 66. Standing 14 feet tall outside the former Ranchero Motel in Antares, Arizona, the massive green Moai-inspired sculpture was built from wood, metal, chicken wire, styrofoam, and cement as a tribute to the quirky roadside spirit that made the Mother Road famous.

Today, Giganticus Headicus welcomes travelers from around the world to Antares Point, where visitors can explore the gift shop, discover additional sculptures created by Gregg Arnold, and experience one of Arizona's most photographed Route 66 landmarks. Equal parts public art, roadside oddity, and unforgettable photo stop, Giganticus Headicus celebrates the fun, creativity, and larger-than-life personality that continue to define the Mother Road.
